Ever since I visited Eastport Maine with my dear friend Caitlin Hoffman and BiCoastal Retreats, I have wanted a typewriter.

In the historic farmhouse at Rossport by the Sea, was an old manual typewriter and teens and adults alike had fun creating poems and stories, and capturing thoughts.
So when I saw an old typewriter at the thrift store I had to check it and despite my limited knowledge and not knowing if it would really work I tried all the keys and bought it on the spot!

When I got home I learned more about my Underwood Leader typewriter with a carrying case (that is not entirely reliable). I need a new ribbon but it has been fun to hear the click-clack of the keys and to type without the ability to spellcheck or backspace or correct. I’m embracing making mistakes, definitely strengthening my fingers and enjoying what others write when they visit since I have it available for anyone to use. I will often type a line or two when I walk by the desk and I love it! So when you come to visit what will you type?
